As most of you might have noticed, Google has been beefing up the security features of their Gmail service. They recently added two important options:

The first is the “last login” screen, that will show you the last time you logged in, and allows you to check for suspicious activity such as session hijacks.

The other is even newer, and allows you to always connect using https. You’ll find this option in the preferences screen for your gmail-account; if it’s not there yet, use https://mail.google.com to connect to gmail; that will also get you to the https version of the site.

There is just this small thing: if you’re offering SSL-encrypted connections, don’t forget to renew your certificates! Ouch…
